Olympics Rio 2016 is here and South Africa’s very own Chad Ho – one of the world’s fastest open water swimmers – is in Rio to make history with his first gold medal. However, unlike many other athletes participating at Rio, Chad will be comfortably focused on the job at hand without having to worry about how to cover any medical expenses should anything happen to him whilst in Brazil.
After been introduced to Chad by our recent acquisition, FMI, Bidvest Insurance decided to get behind Chad by sponsoring his comprehensive travel insurance whilst at the Olympics. After all the commotion surrounding the Zika Virus, Chad will also be relieved to know that Bidvest Insurance are one of the few Insurance companies in SA who offer travellers cover against contracting the Zika virus. Our comprehensive travel insurance also covers travellers who decide to cancel their trip as a result of not wanting to take a chance contracting the Zika virus, which can incur hefty cancellation costs as a result.
As a company, we place a lot of emphasis on supporting local sporting heroes and we wanted to provide Chad Ho with the peace of mind that a comprehensive travel insurance product offers. With Brazil being one of the most highly affected areas with the Zika virus, we want Chad to focus solely on his performance at the Olympics without the worries of not being covered. We wish him all the best and will be watching him while he attempts to bring back a gold medal to SA.
Chad Ho will be competing in the Olympic Marathon Swimming races in Fort Copacabana on Tuesday 16th August 2016 at 2pm local time. Here’s a statement we received from Chad; “I am excited and honoured to be representing SA’s hopes for another medal in the swimming discipline at this year’s Olympic Games. The support and encouragement of the SA public has been overwhelming as well as the financial contributions and sponsorships by FMI and Bidvest Insurance. I cannot thank them enough and am extremely grateful, because without their support it would make things a lot more challenging for me leading up to race day. Now I really can focus on the job at hand and on race day will do my best to make everyone proud”.
Best of luck Chad, we are behind you all the way!
